Making Learning Fun and Enjoyable
Beginner Music Theory
I know how difficult it can be to find a reliable teacher that takes their time with explaining music theory in a way that students understand. Teachers need to be able to motivate and guide students towards success. As an experienced and passionate Piano Instructor, I believe in an approach that gives students positive, constructive ways to learn. I design my lessons according to my students’ needs, with an emphasis on confidence-boosting activities.

What are the Benefits of Piano Lessons?
Multiple studies have shown music lessons leave a significant impact on the brain. Children who take piano lessons learn memorization skills. These skills complement those learned in school and can even improve children's grades. There aren't any guarantees that your child will do better in school because they took piano lessons. However, it will give your child a more well-rounded education and may even provide them an extra way to earn money teaching piano to others in the future. :)
The benefits of working with a private piano music instructor are clear: you'll get one-on-one guidance from a professional, a customized lesson plan, and someone to hold you accountable to your musical goals. I want you to succeed as much as you do!
What is expected of me as a student?
I may provide a book for the student for purchase if I have one available or you may purchase them on your own. Additional materials may include:
·Journal or composition pad for taking notes
·Pencil (this is a must!)
·Metronome (an online metronome will do, here is one I recommend that's free.
Just remember to be patient and take your time, I will never push you past your comfort zone. Most of all.. keep practicing and have fun!

IMPORTANT: I must receive the fee first before we start lessons, to ensure that both of us are committed to make the lessons happen.
There are no refunds. No make-up lesson policy.
Why have I opted for the “no make-up policy?”
Once upon a time I had an open make-up policy and 20 students, long story short…I found that some students were simply not committed and this hindered new students in the waiting list that were passionate to learn with me... :(
Consider our private lessons as you would consider any other educational institution. If as a student, you miss a lesson, your class will not be made-up and your teacher will not refund your money to you. I promise to offer quality music education and my policies reflect the same. All in all, this “No Make-Up Policy” values both your time and your teacher’s. Plus, it helps you stay on top of your goals and I want to help you stay focused.
NB: It is important to note that our “No Make-Up Policy” does not cover teacher absence. In this case your time would be made-up as your teacher missed the contracted time of your lesson.

Benefits of Online Learning
Learn in your home – Your practice environment is your lesson environment. This will allow you to be more relaxed and at ease. This convenience makes it easier to stick with the lessons and avoid illness and weather related issues. Additionally, this model of lessons fosters a sense of independence much earlier compared to in-person lessons. Students who are regularly searching for their own answers, viewing tutorials online, and possess a basic proficiency in technology make great candidates for online learning. That being said, online lessons do involve a bit more concentration and patience on the student’s end and might not work for everyone, especially younger beginners. For this reason, I do not allow anyone under the age of 10 to study with me through Skype.
What Equipment Do I Need?
You will need access to a piano, reliable internet connection, and Skype-compatible device.
Your Skype device must have a camera and microphone. Recent model laptops are ideal, but iPads and iPhones also work well because of their great cameras, mics, and Wi-Fi chipsets.
Generally speaking, larger screens provide a more comfortable experience. If you go the tablet/smartphone route, you’ll need a tripod or a mount that allows you to point the camera in the direction of the piano keys.
Your payment must be processed before lessons can take place. you will be sent an online PayPal invoice a couple days in advance. The lesson must be paid for within 24 hours of scheduling to reserve your spot. If there is no payment the lesson will be forfeit until the next lesson. There are no refunds. At our lesson time you can either call me or be ready to accept my call at the agreed upon time. Your time won’t be extended if you are late, you won't get extra time for calling in early. All lessons cancelled by me will be rescheduled. I have a strict no make-up lesson policy.
